Get Involved!

We would love to cover the entire area with the best forecasts possible, as well as give our viewers the most accurate view of recent storm events, and with your help we can do even better! Become a WeatherWatcher! Send in a storm report, or perhaps a morning low temperature, a wind gust….Anything!

It doesn't matter how old you are or what you do. All that matters is a good thermometer in the right spot, a good place to measure snow (where there's little to no drifting), and a keen eye. That's it! Here's specifically what you would need to do:

1. Purchase or use a digital or mercury thermometer. Place it away from the house, in an area shaded from the sunlight, at about 5 feet above the ground.
2. Phone or email us the temperature, and note any significant weather conditions such as wind, rain, snow, fog, cloud coverage, etc. that you may see.
3. For snowfall, use a picnic table or a "snowboard" (which is a white 2 foot X 2 foot plywood board) to measure. Measure snowfall every six hours if possible (which is standard for meteorologists) and clear the snow from a part of the board or picnic table every six hours.

There is no commitment needed! We understand that you can't always be there to give us a report on the weather. Any time a report is sent to us it is logged and greatly appreciated! We generally take reports in for our newscasts within one hour of broadcast. Any time that there is a major storm, whether it's a snowstorm or a severe thunderstorm, we would like to know what's going on in your backyard! Get involved!

Just Send Us an Email with a Report...or to Get the Ball Rolling!!

Always be sure to include your name and town so we all know who and where you are!
